Skin Care From India– Should We Give It A Try?

Montrose (USA) (Mediabharti Syndication Service) 04 October: If you were in India and being treated with traditional Indian medicine, known as Ayurvedic medicine, you would probably be told which herbs, fruits and spices you need and which lifestyle changes have to be made to handle your health problems. Ayurvedic skin care is basically the same. Your skin problem would be assessed in relationship to the basic Ayurvedic ‘Five Elements’– spirit, air, earth, wind and fire– and you’d would be given a program to follow based on that assessment. It’s holistic natural skin care at its best. Find out what it can do for you.

If your skin is dry and tight, it is considered to be air-predominant. Your recommended skin care routine would consist of going to bed early, taking a 20-minute walk in the morning, doing deep-breathing exercises and taking regular short breaks during work. Dietary recommendations would start with a breakfast of stewed apples and pears and, throughout the day, you would add plenty of asparagus and zucchini, seasonal fresh fruits, soaked walnuts, soaked and blanched almonds, rice, oatmeal, buckwheat, and mung dai lentils. You would also be advised to sauté a mixture of turmeric, cumin, coriander and fennel in clarified butter or olive oil and add that to your food during or after cooking.

The great thing about this skin care routine is its holistic nature. When was the last time you went to a doctor and had him, or her, recommend taking frequent breaks while you’re working to resolve your dry skin problems? Not likely.

If you’re going from one skin care treatment product to another, check out the Ayurvedic solutions. There’s plenty of information on the Mediabharti.com about it, or you could find an Indian doctor who is still practicing traditional medicine.
